Spanish

¬°Bienvenidos a la clase de espa√Īol!

Spanish at Holy Rosary has proven to be a fun, exciting time for students.  The students continue to show enthusiasm to learn a second language and are eager to participate each time I enter their class!  I am a confident that full immersion is the best way to learn a language, therefore, I speak Spanish the entire time I am in the classroom.  My focus is on conversational growth as well as grammar and the more technical side of the language. Students are often placed into Spanish II when entering High School as their foundation in Spanish at Holy Rosary School provides them with the skills taught in Spanish I.

The students at Holy Rosary continue to amaze me with their Spanish skills!  Each day I am excited to be here and engage our students in fun language activities to strengthen their academic vocabulary as well as their conversational skills.  I use various strategies to ensure that all students are understanding and participating!  Key concepts are often taught through song, dance and art.  Through full immersion I am seeing more and more children understand what I am saying and follow the directions given in Spanish!

Students are invited to participate in a Spanish enrichment club throughout the year at Holy Rosary!  The club runs for six weeks at a time and engages students in fun hands on Spanish activities.  We make traditional Spanish and Mexican food, sing, dance, roll play and enriching our vocabulary through movement!  The club is after school from 3:15-4:15 pm and is offered to different grades at different times of the year.

I am blessed to be here at Holy Rosary and look forward to being here each day!  The strength of this community shines through each of the students!
