|Dear First Grade Families,
Hello! My name is Anna Olson and I will be your child’s First Grade Teacher at Holy Rosary School. I wanted to write this letter to formally introduce myself. Please take a moment to read this letter and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me as you will find my personal contact information attached.
I was born and raised in Seattle, WA. I attended Washington State University Honors College where I earned my B.A. in Psychology. After I completed my undergraduate studies, I went on to attend the University of Washington. I studied education and graduated with my Master’s in Teaching and obtained my K-8 Teaching Certificate. I did my Student Teaching in a Second Grade Classroom in the Shoreline School District. After graduation, I worked in the Edmonds School District teaching Second Grade. I also spent time teaching Pre-K in a Seattle based Private School. After taking a break from work to raise my children, I returned to teaching last year and worked as a Substitute Teacher for the Seattle Archdiocese Catholic Schools.
I really enjoyed my time as a Substitute Teacher here at Holy Rosary School. I was very impressed with the high quality of the teaching and the learning that was happening at HRS. I was ready to return to work full-time for 2017-18 school year and when the job opening presented itself I was confident that I would be an excellent fit. I am both happy and proud to join the team of teachers at Holy Rosary School. I love working with First Grade students and their families. First Grade is a year of great learning and growth and I am looking forward to helping all of my students succeed.
I have been working hard this summer to get our First Grade Classroom organized and to prepare for the school year ahead. I am excited to meet all of your children and to get the year started! I will inform you all about my classroom procedures and expectations during the school wide Curriculum Night on September 19th. The main purpose of this letter is just to introduce myself and make an initial connection. I look forward to working with all of you throughout the year to come. Please know that I am completely dedicated to your child’s education and well-being at school. I will do everything I can to teach them and take care of them during the school day. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your summer. Hug your kids, play in the sun and relax. I will look forward to seeing you all on the first day of school!
